On April 26, 2025, PT Teleradiologi Center Indonesia (PT TCI) officially launched Indonesia’s first AI-driven teleradiology center during a national seminar titled “Revolutionizing Radiology: Advancing Teleradiology with AI to Tackle the TB Crisis in Indonesia,” held at Hotel Borobudur, Jakarta.
The event drew over 1,000 attendees, including representatives from the Ministry of Health, PDSRKI (Indonesian Society of Clinical Radiologists), HIPTEK, and international radiology experts from South Korea and Japan.
Prof. Dr. dr. Aziza G. Icksan, President Director of PT TCI, stated, “Indonesia is facing a severe shortage of radiologists, while TB ranks as the second highest in the world. Through this seminar and the launch of our teleradiology center, we aim to provide a concrete solution to this public health crisis.”
Slamet Riyanto from PT. TCI, added that the AI-powered teleradiology system enables remote, real-time reading of medical images—allowing quality radiology services to reach underserved regions. “This technology is expected to accelerate early TB detection and ensure a more equitable distribution of care,” he noted.
The seminar featured prominent figures such as Prof. Terawan A. Putranto (Former Minister of Health), Prof. Daehee Kang (Former Dean of Seoul National University College of Medicine), Prof. Norio Nakata, Yoshitomo Furusawa (Advisor, Irimoto Medical Radiology), and many others, who presented key strategies for advancing telemedicine and AI integration in healthcare.
Supported by global imaging platform HealthHub and PT Telenasindo, a local developer of medical software solutions (THENA PACS and TETRARIS), the event marked a major step in Indonesia’s digital health transformation.
“Our mission is to scale AI-powered teleradiology nationwide and support healthcare digitalization through strategic partnerships,” Slamet concluded.
